Tip Tests: Teeth Whitening ♡

Hey Guys,

Right, after Tuesday's pretty long and heavy post, I thought I'd bring back the Tip Tests posts, I love doing these because I love the testing period, because I get to experiment, explore and then share the whole thing. Currently, I'm testing Heatless Curls, and I am having so much fun, like, one shouldn't have so much fun testing a hairstyle lol. That should be up in a good few weeks because, just when I thought I was done testing all the curling methods, my friend suggested another and I went, I need to give that a go lol. But anyway, lets get onto what I've tested, teeth whitening products. I was kindly sent products from Janina Charcoal Range, the Activated Charcoal Toothpaste* and the Charcoal & Clay Teeth Whitening Powder*. I didn't want to use them for 2 weeks and write up a 'fake' post, so I tested the products for 5 weeks and it's safe to say, I found the results quite interesting ..

Activated Charcoal Toothpaste (£11.50)*

Now, I don't know about you, but I've always been hesitant about tooth whitening products, I've always found them ridiculously overpriced and never believe the before and after results, but I can gladly say, this works, it genuinely works. Yes, its priced much higher than your regular toothpaste but you are getting your moneys worth. Like I said at the beginning, I've tested this for about 5 weeks and it looks like I haven't even made a dent to the bottle. I haven't even spoken about the product yet and I've said it already works lol, talk about eager. So, as we all know, its a toothpaste, with the intention of teeth whitening.
The actual toothpaste is black/greyish and its a little thicker and grittier than your regular toothpaste but doesn't feel weird or uncomfortable. The little gem that comes with this, is that it helps freshen your breath too, I've found in the past when trying whitening products, they only whiten, or at least attempt too, but they never left my breath feeling fresh or minty. Thankfully this does.
The Charcoal helps absorb toxins and lifts any kind of stains. There's also elements of Pinapple and Papaya Fruit Enzymes to help whiten the teeth, in a safe way.

Now, lets all get ready for the before and after pics, which entail some of the finest shots, and photograph me at my best lol. I don't have perfect teeth and they aren't perfectly white but hopefully you can tell the slight difference. PS, lets all be grateful that my upper lip was threaded, you're welcome haha!

Charcoal & Clay Teeth Whitening Powder (£13.00)*

Charcoal has been on the rise for years now, if you google teeth whitening home remedies, Charcoal will come up ... everywhere and boy its messy. This is a whitening powder, as apposed to a toothpaste. You take a little pinch of powder, add a little water, to make your own paste and you then brush your teeth. Now, I'll be honest with you, this can get a little messy, you'll probably get most of it around your skin and down your chin. Which is one of the reasons, I didn't really like this. I much preferred the toothpaste.

The texture is another thing I didn't get along with, its quite gritty and I didn't really like how it felt. In terms of results, immediate results, you can't really see much of a difference. But with the toothpaste, almost immediately after brushing, you can make out that the teeth are that slight brighter, but of course, with time, they definitely got whiter.
And there we have it, teeth whitening, checked and tested. If any of products interested you, they can be found over on the Boots Website along with a whole host of other Janina products :)
