On - Trend Acai Berry Bowl ♡

Hey Guys,

I thought I'd share the recipe of one of my favourite breakfasts, which doesn't have to be eaten as a breakfast; I also like to have it for lunch or as a snack, The Acai Berry Bowl. I've eaten this for quite a while now and since healthy eating and super foods are pretty much on trend, this recipe will fit into that bracket. It takes well under then 3 minutes and there's no fancy cooking involved. Not to mention it contains 3/5 of your five fruits a day, I mean if that's not wining in life, what is!

Acai berries are tiny berries found in the amazon forest and deemed a super food. (We can't get the berries in England but powdered versions are available). They contain amazing nutrients that benefit your body in various ways, such as a crazy amount of antioxidants (brilliant for the skin), a load of fibre, a ton of healthy fats and act as a natural energy boost and when blended with a few sweet fruits, they taste pretty amazing too!

The Ingredients

Berries of your choice e.g grapes, raspberries, blackberries. (I used 5 Strawberries and 2 handfuls of Blueberries ). P.S remember to wash them, I almost forgot!
One frozen banana (chopped). I chopped the banana and put it in a freezer bag overnight or a few hours before making the bowl.
2 Tablespoons of Acai berry powder. You can get this from any health food store (Holland and Barrett, Wholefoods and Planet Organic).
2 Tablespoons of water.
Toppings: (optional)
Dried/fresh sliced coconut
Any fresh/dried fruit of your choice
Any seeds/nuts of you're choice
Or you don't have to put any toppings if you don't want any ☺
I went with chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, flaked almonds and chopped strawberries!
The Recipe:
Pretty simple really, put everything in a blender and blend. If it isn't blending smoothly, add a little bit more water but be careful because you still want it quite thick and not runny.
Pour into a bowl and add you're toppings! Voila.
