Bourjois Holiday Voxbox | Raw First Impressions ♡

Hey Guys,

So a few weeks ago, I received my first ever complementary gift from Influenster and I couldn't have been happier. If you aren't aware of Influenster, its ultimately a review program that sends out products to its members in exchange for truthful reviews. And this month, I was lucky to be picked and have the chance to review a bunch of Holiday Bourjois Products*. Lets start off with my relationship with Bourjois and then I'll get onto what I mean about 'Raw First Impressions'. Bourjois, where do I start, I love the lipsticks and blushes, but I don't get along with the foundations, concealers and mascara's are a hit/miss. I can never match my skin tone to the base products because the shade range is limited, which is always annoying! The Raw First Impressions? Well, we all know how traditional first impressions work, you gather your first impressions and write about it, but I want to do something different. I'm going to be writing up my impressions as soon as I open the product, which is why I put raw in the title lol. I haven't used any of the products until writing this post because I want to keep my views authentic. Eeep, so I'm so excited to finally have a play around ...

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (£9.99)*
Lets start off with the foundation, pumping it onto the back on my hand, its not a bad match, a little darker and warmer, its the shade 57, Bronze. As I rub it in, it is quite liquidy, and water based but is blending effortlessly and easily. It's very rich, pigmented and I feel as though a little will be able to go a long way. It says it lasts up to 16hrs, I can't comment on that yet lol but I'm excited to see how this wears.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer (£8.99)
This is in the shade Dark, and I can tell you, it ain't very dark, its very light and about 2/3 shades lighter than my skin tone. I think this may work well as an under eye concealer, but it may be too bright! Onto the actual product, the formula is a lot thicker than the foundation, but is pigmented. It comes in a little bottle with a doe foot applicator, which makes application easy!

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher (£6.49)*
Before I even open the blush, can I just say how much this takes me back. My mum used to love these blushes, still to this date, I find her blushes scattered in the makeup bag and drawers! Oh my, the scent that comes out of this blush is amazing, its a rosy scent and this more than the blush itself reminds me of my mum, it came with an old fashioned blush brush and I love that. It's an iconic part of the blush. Its such a cute compact and the blush has little glitter pigments. Swatching it for the first time, its very soft in texture, not grainy in the slightest and isn't very pigmented. I'm guessing you can build on the pigment but it has a softness to it, its not a 'harsh, in your face' blush, its quite elegant and romantic. Oh I forgot to mention, its the shade 34, Rose D'or.

Bourjois Smoky Stories Quad Eyehadow Palette (£7.99)*
Onto 1/2 eye products, this is a smoky quad, with 3 matte shades and a metallic shade planted in the middle. It's quite a cute and small compact. Right, so lets give these a little swatch. Oh wow, these are quite surprising, their quite pigmented, which isn't what I expected from a drugstore product. The metallic shade I'm pleased with because its go a gorgeous iridescent shimmer.

Bourjois Push Up Volume Glamour Mascara (£8.99)*
Right, I know I've rambled a little bit in this post but I won't go into this product much because I've spoken about it before in this post. I purchased it last year and to summarize, it gives volume, length and flutter but it stinks, to put it frank. I very much dislike the scent, its smells of medicine and its a very wet formula.

Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks (£8.99)*
Aaaah, this is what I so excited to try, lipsticks are my fave and I spotted two shades that I already knew I'd love. Getting onto swatching, oh, they're good! Strong, rich, smooth and matte, I love them! I'm predicting they would last a good few hours before they start to fade. Lets get onto the shades:
Brunette: My fave, by a mile. Its a deep maroon-y brown.
Berry Formidable: An iconic, winter red.
Magni-fig: Hmm, I don't know how to describe this one, its a deep purple/ plum-y shade.

And there we have it, a full raw first impressions of a few Bourjois Holiday bits, I thought I would create a quick little look out of the products, using the Magni-fig shade:
