My Diwali Makeup ♡

Hey Guys,

So I wanted to do something a little different, in 2 years of blogging, I don't think I've ever shared my Diwali makeup and I thought I'd do just that today. As many of you may know, Diwali was celebrated last week and its a religious festival of light, I won't get into the history lol. But just like Christmas, I ate a crap tonne of sweets, Indian sweets and my, they were glorious! I sidetracked, to food ... how typical. Anyway, lets get onto the actual post, I opted for s super simple look, like ridiculously simple because I'm not one for heavy makeup, although I did want to take the plunge with eye shadow but of course, I ran out out time and it got late. But I did get a chance to properly give the GWA Flamingal Collection Makeup Brush Set* ago and they didn't disappoint ...

Face

I started off with applying the NARS Tinted Moisturizer, using the Tapered Brush*,  this is my absolute holy grail for days when I want something that touch heavier than Concealer. It's a light/medium but build able coverage, it does a great job of evening out the skin tone and covering acne/scars. I then went in with 3 concealers, yup three! These are the 3 I normally use on a day-to-day basis, so I went ahead and dotted both the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and NARS Creamy Concealer over my face on area's I felt needed more coverage, ie, the acne scars and any redness and blended it into the tinted moisturiser using the concealer brush* For under eyes, I mixed the Clinique Airbrush Concealer  and the NARS Concealer and blended it all out.

That's the base done, next was the highlighter and oooh yeaah, don't I love me some highlighter. I took a swipe using the large fan brush* of the Laura Geller Gilded Honey Highlighter onto my cheekbones and this stuff is amazing, I've raved about it before, but seriously, its the only highlighter I reach for now! To finish off the face, I applied a little bit of blush, I'm very careful when it comes to blush because I have naturally red cheeks, annoying! And if I apply waaay too much blush, it looks like I've had my face up against a wall for hours, not a great look. I took a fluffy brush and gently applied the NARS Orgasm Blush.

Eyes

This was very basic, just a couple of coats of the L'Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara, which has become my absolute love, it's pretty much everything I look for in a mascara, great length, amazing volume and a lovely curl! Because I didn't get time for eye shadow, I took a little bit of the LG Highlighter and pressed it into the inner corner of my eyes.

Lips

I was struggling guys, I mean picking a lipstick is an everyday struggle but finding something to go with a purple saree was a little tough. I wasn't sure whether or not to go all out there with a dark red/ purple or to play it subtle with a pink/brown nude. In the end, I went for the safe, comfortable choice, one that I know wouldn't fail. I mixed the Huda Beauty Liquid Lipsticks in Trendsetter and Spicegirl (I wrote a post on these here), and that was pretty much it!

I told you, it was a pretty simple look! The brushes applied help apply my makeup smoothly and effortlessly, because they have the softest brush heads. If you're interested in exploring GWA, I've linked the website here.
