ColourPop Lovin' II ♡

Hey Guys,

So as I said, today's post is part two of my ColourPop haul/ collection, what ever you want to call it, its me basically talking about my love for ColourPop and reviewing the products I've managed to get my hands on! I'll link Tuesday's post at the end and it does include a giveaway, but today's I'm talking about ColourPop's Liquid Lipsticks which I absolutely love but they can be a right pain at times ...

I have the ultra matte LL's and about 3 Ultra Satin LL's, they are quite similar but they differ slightly!

Packaging + Applicator
The packaging is pretty standard, the product is in a bottle and has a doe foot applicator! There's minimal design around the bottle, just the ColourPop brand name placed near the bottom, which I actually quite like, because it's not too harsh or in your face kinda thing.

Formulation
Ultra Matte Lip: It's quite liquidy, I found, quite runny in a sense but you get a lot out of just one swipe, you really don't need much product upon application. And the formula is actually quite thin, which is probably why it's so liquidy, however just like with the Lippie Stix's they pigmentation is insane. The shades burst full of colour and richness and can be pretty intense at times, especially the darker shades, they can be super bold and daring. It's also a very light formula, you can't really feel it on your lips.
They have a matte finish and what I've found is that they do dry out the lips, far more than the Lippie Stix's. Although I do find them comfortable to wear, when my lips are super dry, the product just feels uncomfortable. Also, they dry darker, so you might think that the shade is light, or dark, but when it's fully dried, its even darker.

Ultra Satin Lip: The formula is completely different to the Ultra Mattes because its so much thicker and heavier, although, you don't feel the product on the lips. These have a Satin finish, it's not shiny/ creamy, nor matte, somewhere in the middle, but I just can't put my finger on it, sort of like a creamy matte, if that makes any sense lol. Just like with the Ultra Matte's, the pigmentation is strong and rich, you really do get a lot for your $6!
Hopefully from the picture, you will be able to tell that the Matte formulation is quite thin compared to the Satin!

Wear Ability:
Ultra Matte's: Oh my goodness, these last forever, like actually forever. Because they have a matte finish, they do not transfer in any sort of way, they simply don't budge. You can have the heartiest meal of your entire life, but with a Ultra Matte Lip on, the product will not smudge, move, simply not go anywhere, I think you guys get the point haha! But, although that may seem like a good thing, which in fact it is, because you don't need to reapply and you're getting what you pay for, but, yep there's a but, it is sooo incredibly annoying when you need to cleanse your face at night. Like honestly, I have to swipe my lips with micellar water, probably over 10 times, and it's still not gone, I'm left with crumbles of the product, until I've properly gone in and cleansed my face. It's just a serious pain to remove but when it's off, I always get that hallelujah feeling!!!

Ultra Satin Lip: It is safe to report that these come off much easier than the Matte's lol. Because they have a Satin finish, it does transfer but surprisingly last throughout the day. I would say, they are much more comfortable to wear than the Matte's because they have a sense of moisture!
Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick Shades:
Chilly Chili: I think ColourPop have discontinued this shade but I know you can still find it online, its a super dark and intense browny maroon.
Speed Dial: A dark peach.
Auto-Correct: A greyish peach shade.
Love Bug: A dark burnt orange.
Wild Nothing: Dark dusty brown, with hints of pink.
Airplane Mode: A shade lighter than Speed Dial, and slightly more peachy toned.
Kae: Deep and intense brown. This shade is also discontinued.
Tulle: A super dark pink, with hints of red.
Beeper: A dupe for Kylie Cosmetics Dolce K, browny nude.
Teeny Tiny: A true deep plum.
Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks:
Calypso: A deep muted pink shade.
Screenshot: A mix of the Matte shades, Airplane Mode and Speed Dial, a true peach shade.
Frick 'N Frack: A deep terracotta shade.

And that's it for this weeks posts and on everything I own from ColourPop, I do have to say though, I prefer the Lippie Stix's to the Liquid Lipsticks! I've left a link to Tuesday's Post, don't forget to enter the giveaway if you wish :)

Have a lovely weekend!

  1. I really want to try some of their Ultra Satin liquid lipsticks (I personally don't mind the transfert), the shade Frick N' Frack is stunning! Having said that, I absolutely love their lippie stix and I already know I will prefer them over the liquid lipsticks as well! Lovely post!

  2. I definitely want to make more color pop orders. I've pretty much gotten all their pressed shadows now. I am waiting on a few more shades and i also order a lip trio kit which allows me to try the matte formula, the satin formula and the glossy formula which i am excited about. I really want to try their lip products and this allows me to try out three different formulas.
