Luscious, Soft Lips | 3 Ways ♡

Hey Guys,

So as many of you know, I suffer from dry lips just like the rest of the world but it really gets to me. Purely because I've been swooped into this whole matte, liquid lipstick craze and matte lips just don't agree with dry lips, its a complete no no. Even with regular non matte lipstick, dry patches appear on my lips throughout the day, it really annoys me!! But fear no more, I have found a solution, three solutions to be precise. I can now say, by doing at least one of the techniques twice a week, I no longer suffer with dry lips. Don't get me wrong, my lips still get dry ... just occasionally rather than everyday, I think we can blame the weather for that!

The First Technique: Sugar (Preferably Brown) & Honey Lip Scrub.
This is the messiest out of the three, so be sure to do this one over the bathroom sink, if you if it a go. However, it is so simple, all you do is mix 1 Tablespoon of Brown Sugar with 1 Teaspoon of Honey, and mix until you form a gritty hard paste, add more honey if you wish! Then take a little pinch and scrub your lips with it, start from one end and work yourself to the other, whilst taking more of the scrub. Once you've gently scrubbed your lips, take a damp cloth and wipe it all away. Follow up with lip balm, and that's pretty much it!

The Second Technique: Damp Cloth.
I love this one, its my personal fave. Since most of the world now complete their cleansing routines with a balm cleanser and some sort of cloth, this is perfect for everyday, well its what I do anyway. All you have to do, is wet a washcloth, ring it out and gently scrub your lips with it. That's all, they may go a little red, mine do but I guess that means its worked. And then of course, follow with lip balm. If you do this in the evening, the results will show the next morning, my lips are always plumper and ever so slightly bigger, and of course so much more softer!

The Third Technique: The Toothbrush.
This couldn't get any easier, you simply take a spare toothbrush and scrub your lips using small circular motions, and as always, follow up with lip balm. How simple!

Those three exfoliating techniques are sure to help heal your dry lips and get rid of dead skin cells, let me know if you give them a go!

See ya on Thursday ☺

  1. I love the LUSH popcorn lip scrub, I swipe it across my lips and then I protect them with Carmex overnight! I have chronically dry lips too and a lot of it has to do with my lupus and the meds I take, which also affects my dental health.

  7. Thank you for the tips, I never really thought of trying this techniques! I love matte lip products but sometimes, they make my lips dry and flaky. I usually just rub the flaky parts off, but sometimes when I pull at them, I end up hurting my lips =w=

  9. Wow, these are such amazing tips! I suffer from dry lips also, and like yourself I sometimes have to avoid matte lipsticks etc., because my lips just don't agree with them at all! x x x I have a little lip scrub that I use from time to time, but I never thought of making my own one so thank you for the suggestion! I tried using a toothbrush before but it ended up a complete disaster haha, my lips are dry yes but they are also VERY sensitive so you can guess how that ended up... A lot of 'ouch!', lol. :P <3 Never thought of using a damp cloth, I'll deffo try it out! :) <3 x x Thanks again for these lovely suggestions, and I hope you're well hun. x Kisses. x x

  19. I do the damp cloth technique every morning, whether or not my lips need it. I've also tried a homemade scrub but was a bit too messy for me :D I also find that sleeping with some sort of balm will soften any dry skin, easier to rub off ;)

  20. Thanks for the tips, Trishna! No matter how much water I drink, I still seem to get dry lips pretty often! My go to balm is Carmex, but I do think I need to scrub my lips more often. I usually use the damp towel trick but I really want to try the tooth brush method. Does it hurt at all, you think?

    1. That's exactly like me, it gets so annoying! Urm, it shouldn't hurt, but if your lips are sensitive, the brush may irritate them sadly ♥

  22. This is such a great, helpful post - and such easy suggestions! I HATE, HATE that my lips get so dry with matte lipsticks, I feel your pain! Haha, I have always thought of making a scrub but I'm going to suck it up and do it now - especially since we're heading into colder months over here! Toothbrush one though? I'm gonna do it tonight!
