Classic Homemade Pizza ♡

Hey Guys,

Right I know I know, I've been slacking pretty badly when it comes to recipe posts and I do have a reason ... I really don't haha. I guess I was just lacking in inspiration of what to make, but of course, when I decided to make this Pizza, I got a ton of other inspiration and made quite a few dishes within a space of a few days, if you follow me on Snap Chat (trishnapatel6), I described it as being on a cooking high lol! I love pizza, like most people on this planet and although I love getting the odd Dominos over the weekend, I also do love making my own. I always used to think about how long and how much effort it would take but it is so incredibly simple and it didn't take as long as I thought! Lets get on with it, shall we!

What you'll need:

For the dough:

2 Cups of Strong White Flour
1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil
1 Cup of Water
 A pinch of Salt
 1 Teaspoon of Yeast

The Toppings:
Pick and choose whatever Pizza Toppings you fancy, but here's what I went for:
○ Half an Onion
○ Cheese
○ Sweet corn
○ Spinach
○ A Chilli
○ Herbs
○ Passata Sauce

The Method:
1. Prepare the yeast according to the packet instructions, I had to wait 15 minutes for my yeast to activate, so in that time, I prepared the flour, mix the flour, oil and salt in a pan and have a little play around with it.

2. Add in the yeast and start kneading and working all the ingredients into the flour, add the water, depending on the texture, slowly add the water, if the dough is quite flaky, add some water, until you reach a dough like consistency. If you find that you've added more water than needs be, just add more flour until you have the right texture!

3. Once you've got a dough like consistency, dust your surface with some flour and slam the dough on top haha, because this is where the hard work begins. You have to knead that dough for a good 10 minutes otherwise when you bit into the pizza, it'll feel all chewy and you don't want that. Time yourself like I did and knead that dough. Stretch it apart, break it up, pretend your a pizza professional throwing it in the air, just kill those ten minutes!

4. Depending on the size of the dough and how many pizza's you want to make, spilt the dough. And all you have to do is put it in a well oiled bowl for 30 minutes and cover it with cling film.

5. Once those 30 minutes are over, the dough would have risen and it really couldn't get more straight forward from here. All you have to do is roll the dough out in a circle, or any shape you want for that matter and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes at gas mark 4.

6. Pull them out of the oven and place all your toppings on top. First spread the Passata all over the bases and simply add on your toppings in which ever order you wish!

7. Lastly, all you have to do is bake the pizza's for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese has melted at gas mark 6!

And we're acabado (Portuguse for Finished). Enjoy ☺

  35. Oh my gosh, that pizza looks so YUMMY, it's almost 2am here as I'm typing this, but this post has made me proper hungry, don't know how I'm going to deal with that now, haha! x x I'm going to bookmark this recipe, because honestly, I've always wanted to try making my own pizza but I'm useless at baking, and pizza dough seems like way too much of a challenge for me... But the way you've described it seems really simple and straightforward, which makes me want to give it a shot, for real! :) <3 x x I usually buy pre-made pizza bases and then just add my own toppings (I like A LOT of toppings on my pizza... Yes...), your picks are super yummy but I'd be tempted to add some feta cheese to that... Because you can never have enough cheese, haha! Thanks for sharing yet another fab post, darling. <3 x x
